Cheesy Goodness

I do a lot of my own food prep, avoiding commercially packaged foods as much as possible. Yes, it takes a bit more time, and a bit more effort, but it’s worth it. It’s worth it for me for many reasons, not least of which is as a spiritual exercise. Continue reading

Ecojustice, Ethics, and the 100 Mile Diet

I absolutely love food. There are stories in my family that as a toddler I would regularly fall asleep at the table, only to be woken up with my face covered in the contents of my plate. What Are You Wearing?

Last week I mentioned some of my views on the ethics in the clothing industry. This week, as a follow-up, I want to touch on a different aspect: the environmental impact of what we wear. Again I challenge us to consider how we respond to our call to care for creation, in what we are wearing. Continue reading

The Bag Lady

When I go shopping, I bring my own reusable bags rather than use plastic or paper ones provided. It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s something I can do to make a difference. I see it as part of a faith-based response. Continue reading
