If worship is an act of religious devotion in response to God, then the opportunity to worship exists far beyond the walls of our church buildings. The very way we live our lives is worship. How does that inform the choices we make? How do we respond to God’s grace in our daily lives?

Our artwork presents a glimpse of a broader Christian message, but imagine if a stranger were to see within our art something unintended, confusing, or offensive? I wonder how often we present an incomplete picture of the Christian church/faith/tradition? Does what we present through art and symbol tell enough of our whole story to convey the truth? Everyday Sexism

Casual, everyday sexism remains common in our culture, for both women and men. We know that this behaviour is inexcusable and offensive. We in the church have not only an opportunity but a responsibility to address these issues. It’s not easy, it’s not comfortable, but sexism is not something that Jesus would tolerate. The church needs to be a place to celebrate that God’s grace and love is not dependent on gender roles. Continue reading
