February 3, 2013 Fourth Sunday after Epiphany

This week’s readings

With Valentine’s Day just 11 days away from Sunday, this is a perfect time to read Paul’s letter on Love to the Corinthians. As we are about to be surrounded by red candy hearts and temptations of jewellery and huge expectations, this is a good Sunday to reflect on how we love one another.

Jeremiah’s call, as difficult as it was, came out of love. God’s first words, “Before I created you in the womb, I knew you.” What intimate words.

And as Jesus continues to live out his prophetic journey, he learns that to love is not always to be loved.

Where are you leading this Sunday?

About Dawn Leger

I am a priest in the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, having served in Stouffville, Ontario. I think preaching is a profound and great privilege granted to us by God and our Church. I love the reading, the writing, the proclaiming, the dissecting and the dialogue. I also love to cook, sing, read and laugh, in no particular order.
