What kind of society would we be if we all lived on the food of compassion? If, instead of rejoicing at our independence, we lived in pure unashamed dependence on each other. If we stood with our hands out, without demanding, living on the bread of love alone. Continue reading

“I will write it on their hearts”

We need to stop saying “change is coming, but…” It’s coming. It’s here. You, me, and every single person who goes to church and identifies as a Christian needs to be more like the Jesus we follow. Continue reading

A whole lot of hoopala

Don’t we love proof-texting our position? Hey, I’m willing to follow, but as long as it is according to my liberated understanding and doesn’t ask me to let go of my precious beliefs, aspirations, and righteousness. He’s on my side anyway. Continue reading

Does Jesus want me to be happy?

Chickpeas & the management of impressions

I keep chickpeas on my shelf to serve as a reminder that I need to continually put down my desire for approval, for accolades, for acceptance. It reminds me that my identity is to be based on who I am as a child of God. Continue reading

Rending hearts

If we rend our garments and not our hearts, at the end of Lent all we are left with are torn clothes. Nothing will change in our lives. Continue reading
