To the limit

King’s Cove Stage, Targa NL 2014 seems as though with each passing day of Targa Newfoundland, the energy and intensity has been increasing exponentially. Today in some way, it seems that many reached their breaking point. Continue reading

In the groove

As humans, we want to get in a groove. We want to know the rules, the parameters; we want to be in control. We want to be recognized for the things that bring glory and praise to self. In the groove means being in community. Being in the groove doesn’t mean being in the place we want to be. It means being in the place where God can use us the most. Continue reading

Twilight transitions

In the quietness of twilight, I realized that there is much transformation and transition that will occur for me after this week. I was aware that I wanted to portray a certain aspect of me, and not necessarily show others all of who I am. Continue reading

What am I doing?

I was frustrated, and in a moment of clarity, I said to myself, “What am I doing? I am a priest; this cannot be the work of the church!” Continue reading

I do. We will. I will, with God’s help.

In a text the other day, I wrote to a friend, “Remember to care for self as you care for others.” As I typed the words, I paused, then added, “Says he who has difficulty practicing what he preaches.” For me this is so true. Continue reading

Where is my point of reference?

Like the spinning compass, I feel as if my reference points are adjusting to the new learning and new encounters that I have experienced. I find myself longing for control, for direction, for ways to step forward and to step in confidence into the future. Continue reading
