What can you do in 1000 days? It’s a little less than 3 years. Do you think you can change the world in that time? Continue reading

Will We Go, Servants Go

We are often locked inside of ourselves afraid to embrace the baptismal call that God has given us. We are often locked, into our churches afraid of what lurks beyond our walls. Jesus is calling us out of those fear filled places. I pray that we are able to embrace the doubt of Thomas and long to feel the wounds of Jesus. I pray that having felt those wounds, and having experienced the presence of the risen Christ that we might respond by GOING – into the world with the confidence of knowing that we were sent by the great Healer, Lover, & Redeemer. Soaked to the Skin

We have been saturated in the waters of baptism. That soaking has caused us to wade into waters that are often tumultuous. Following Jesus of Nazareth as a baptised follower sometimes will cause us to ask difficult questions about why life can sometimes be so demanding, sometimes dark, and in many cases cruel. Making a Splash

How can we best turn from the “gradual shrinkage of the font from river and bath to tiny bowl, as submersion in the life-giving waters was sanitized into the sprinkling of a few drops” to letting the symbols of baptism speak? Continue reading

Liturgy and Preparing for Baptism

I think that we as Church invest much time, energy, and creativity in both the catechumenate in our ongoing renewal in our faith. At the same time, with the exception of the Vigil and renewing our promises when we celebrate the sacrament of baptism, we don’t do much liturgically to mark these processes. Continue reading

Legal Age

Working. Driving. Voting. We have rules about these kinds of things. We have rules, and we attach age limits to them. Depending on your province, it might look something like this: 14, 16, 18. Now then. At what age does … Continue reading
